After being to the Balkans (previous posts) back in 2015, a friend and I decided to go exploring the French Riviera at the end of summer of the same year.
- What is the French Riviera ?
It is a Mediterranean coastline of the southeast corner of France.
This coastline was one of the first modern resort areas. It began as a winter health resort for the British upper class at the end of the 18th century. After World War II, it became a popular tourist destination and convention site.
We’ve decided to book an Airbnb in the city of Juan-les-Pins. I think it is a good choice because this city is almost in the middle of the main part of the French Riviera. We’ve booked 3 weeks before going but it wasn’t that expensive, well maybe because it was the end of August and the start of September and the prices were decreasing. The appartement was 300m from the beach 🙂 but almost all of the beach is made of private spaces 😦 .
Also it was not planned but the apartment was near the local train station. So very convenient for exploring.
-> I recommend you if you want to visit this area to come in early June or start of September because the prices are lower and the weather is still good. Moreover I also recommend you to use the train if you want to move from city to city because the prices are very cheap and it’s faster than car (e.g. 3 or 4 euros to go to Cannes).
Here’s some photos of our trip 🙂
The French Riviera is a real gem, no doubt why it’s so crowded during summertimes.
There is other places you must see if you’re in the area (We didn’t had time to visit it 😕) :
- Saint-Paul de Vence
- Saint Jean Cap Ferrat
Hope you guys enjoyed my post 🙂
